“Seek first the kingdom of God” - Matthew 6:33
I am asking everyone here at Gospel to embrace this verse and live with a Jesus First mentality. We are entering a time of increased ministry involvement and evangelistic outreach. During this time of growth it is understood that we will have to make some important decisions. Some of these decisions will include large purchases and building for the future. Undoubtedly we will arrive at some crossroads which we have never encountered before.
Before we arrive at the point of decision, let’s determine to put Jesus and His will before our own desires. Let’s try to see the big picture and not just view things from only one vantage point. We should also attempt to put the interests of others before ourselves (Philippians 2:3-4). And whatever we do, we should not think “small”. Our God can do great things that we can’t even think or imagine. Let’s be careful not to limit our usefulness or effectiveness because of a “small” faith.
When faced with great opportunity, some close their eyes while others retreat. Let’s embrace the challenge before us and glorify the Lord.

God's Way
Psalm 18:30 tells us, “As for God, His way is perfect.” Often times we may not know or understand what God is doing in our lives. We must take comfort in the fact that God knows what He is doing. If God created the world and holds all of life in His hands, don’t you think He can take care of you? The Bible also tells us that God knows every sparrow that falls and He clothes the grass of the field. If God cares that much about the grass and birds He must care about us. Sometimes you may wonder where God is. Many times it may seem like He has abandoned you. But it is in those times of utter despair that God’s glory comes through. We may not understand what God is doing, but He does know what is best for us. He knows who you should marry, where you should go to college, what job you should have, and He knows all things about your life. He has established your steps. He has a perfect plan for your life. Your dreams and goals in life do not even compare to what God has already purposed for you. However, it is only when we yield our lives to Him that we can know His way for us. Every time we try to do things our way we slide further off track. We must allow the Spirit of God to control us. We must allow God to control every aspect of our lives. To do this we must spend time in God’s Word every day and also time in prayer. The only way to know God’s way is to read His Word and to ask Him through prayer. To have a perfect life we must follow God’s way. To follow God’s way we must know His way. To know His way we must get into His Word. Stop trying to live life on your own. Your way is full of trouble, but God’s way is perfect. Follow God’s way today and you will be amazed at where He takes you.
